The titanium shaft is covered by a copper sleeve which while being ornamental also enhances thermal exchange, thus reducing drip tip's overheating. The oxide that is going to appear easily on copper can be removed simply by washing the drip tip with salt and vinegar or using apposite metal cleaning products.
